Should we stay home?
Should things reopen?
Are we being cautious enough?
Are we overreacting?
Is the worst over? Or yet to come?
When will things get back to normal?
What if someone I love gets sick?
Is fear taking over? Is worry?
How do we know what is right?
The truth is, no one knows what is best or right.
The best thing I know to do is seek God for His Truth.
He gives wisdom. Not earthly wisdom. Godly wisdom.
For every question, concern, worry, or fear, we can find comfort in God.
Are you angry because you think you know what’s best, but others aren’t listening?
“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” Proverbs 3:7
Are you worried about your finances?
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Are you fearful of the potential death counts?
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.“ Isaiah 41:10
Do you believe our leaders have motives that aren’t in your best interest?
“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” Romans 13:1
Or maybe, you simply don’t know what to believe or how to move forward. Maybe you go back and forth between fear and calm; worry and peace; safety and uncertainty.
Lean on these verses:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Psalms 46:10
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” Psalms 46:1-2
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:18-19
