Who’s tired? Raise your hand.
Why are we so tired?
Yes, we run in a million directions.
Yes, we have practices, work, family gatherings, school functions.
Yes, maybe we run on little sleep and a lot of caffeine.
But be honest, if you had today off, wouldn’t you still be tired tomorrow?
Wouldn’t your mind start racing concerning all the things that you need to get done?
I think we’re so tired because we carry so many burdens.
And in many cases, we don’t just carry them, we hide them.
And it is wearing us all out!
It’s relationship problems.
It’s financial problems.
It’s health problems.
It’s job problems.
It’s parenting problems.
It’s grief problems.
It’s faith problems.
We all have them.
But we don’t share them, do we?
Galatians 6:2 tells us we are to, “carry each other’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Friends, if we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we need to live in a way that others feel comfortable to come to us and share their problems.
This is our responsibility as those living for Christ.
Maybe you think, “How in the world can I help anyone, when I’m in the shape that I’m in?”
But God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 11:25, “those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”
Isn’t that a wonderful promise?
Do you need refreshing? Encourage someone. Do something nice for someone, and in turn, you will be refreshed.
God doesn’t call us to perfection. In fact, He doesn’t want that at all. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9
If you’re tired of being tired, let’s help each other bear our burdens.
If you’re not going through any of these trials right now, look for ways to encourage and help others because I can guarantee that almost everyone you run into has something they are dealing with.
Let’s seek to build each other up.
Let’s seek to help each other.
Let’s forget about looking perfect, and focus on what’s real.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
