How does the miracle of the woman with the blood condition demonstrate knowing Christ as your savior?
This woman had suffered from a blood condition for 12 years. She went to doctors, spent all her money, but she was getting worse instead of better.
When we are dead in our sins, nothing we do can save us. Only Jesus.
When she heard about Jesus, she touched his cloak because she believed if she could just touch his clothes she would be healed.
Once we’ve heard about Jesus, we know we just need to come to him and he will save us.
But look at Mark 5:29: “Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.”
The Bible doesn’t just say “immediately she was healed.” And leave it at that.
No, it says first, “immediately her bleeding stopped…”
Once we ask Jesus to save us from our sin, immediately we’re saved.
But then look again at verse 29: “Immediately her bleeding stopped AND she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.”
From the outside, people could see a change.
But from the inside, “she felt in her body she was freed from her suffering.”
Once we’re saved, we should feel different. We’re no longer a slave to sin. We are free in Christ.
Then, look what Jesus tells the woman after he heals her: “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Mark 5:34
Jesus tells the woman to “go,” and once we’re saved, we’re also called to go.
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19,20
“Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.” John 20:21
