Dear Kids,
I want more for you.
I know you want to fit in.
I know you want to be like your friends.
I know you think normal is fine.
But I want more for you.
Not more stuff.
Not more money.
Not more recognition.
More of what matters.
You were made for more than a perfect ACT score.
You were created for more than straight As.
You were fashioned together for more than being a good basketball player.
You were designed for more than existing as a decent person.
I want you to be kind. I want you to make good decisions. I want you to do good.
But there’s more for your life.
I want more for you.
I don’t want you to decide on a career because the pay sounds good.
Or marry someone because of their social status.
I don’t even want the very best plan I could make for your life.
Because God’s plan for you is better than anything I could want for you or you could want for yourself.
As your mother, I look at you and see you as the precious, priceless gift God gave me.
But more importantly, He created you and gifted you with unique gifts for the purpose of bringing glory to Him.
I can’t accept normal because you are God’s work of art.
A work of art created with a purpose.
A purpose of doing good works.
Good works that were planned before you were ever born.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”Jeremiah 1:9
Doing what everyone else does just because it’s practical or acceptable won’t bring you joy.
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
When you seek Him and His plan, He will transform you each day to become more and more like Jesus so that you can live a life of love and good works.
Dear kids, want more.
Everything in this world is fading away rather quickly.
Want more.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”Ephesians 2:10
