How important are the words we say and the things we teach our kids?
Proverbs 6:20 says, “My son, keep your father’s command, And do not forsake the law of your mother.”
What we say, and what we teach our children should be their source of direction, protection, and guidance.
That’s why it is so important for us to get wisdom from God.
To read His Word and pray.
To seek Him so we can teach our children what they need to know.
We all want direction.
We all want protection.
We all want guidance.
The Bible tells us when children follow their parents’ teaching and commands, they will get these things.
The Bible tells us to keep our mother and father’s words always in our hearts, and if we do Proverbs 6:22 says, “When you walk, their counsel will lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up, they will advise you.”
This is a promise of direction.
A promise of protection.
And a promise of guidance.
Maybe your parents’ were not there to raise you up in the instruction of the Lord.
These words still apply to you.
Pray for wisdom from God.
Read the Bible.
God is our Heavenly Father, and when we seek Him, He gives us the direction, protection, and guidance we need.
