“Why should I keep showing up when so many others don’t make it a priority?
Why should I keep serving?
Why should I be dedicated when others don’t care?
I’m tired. I’m frustrated. I’m discouraged.”
This was a conversation I was having with myself. Then, God revealed something to me.
What if Jesus would’ve asked these questions?
“Why should I be obedient to my Father when they don’t care?
Why should I serve these people who keep sinning?
Why should I give myself to be tortured, killed, and hung on a cross for people who will NEVER love me?”
Instead of asking these questions, He chose unconditional love.
Thank you Jesus for setting the example.
Thank you for showing us the way.
Thank you for reminding us that the road will be hard and perhaps unfair now, but in the end, it’s worth it.
You knew we would get tired sometimes, so you gave us these words, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9-10
Some people aren’t going to be as committed as you,
Some people are going to choose pleasure over serving every time,
Some people are going to sit back and watch while others do it all,
but God warns us about those people too in the verse just before these, “Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:8
It’s hard, but keep going friends.
Keep your eyes on the prize.
“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:14
