Do you know the longest chapter in the Bible?
It’s Psalms 119. I read it today, and I was so convicted by how much the author delighted in God’s Word.
“I seek you with all of my heart.”
“I have hidden your word in my heart.”
“I delight in your decrees.”
“My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.”
“Your statutes are my delight.”
“For I delight in your commands because I love them.”
“I have sought your face with all my heart.”
“Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.”
And on and on it goes.
Is my delight in God and His Word?
It’s so easy for me to click on Facebook instead of my Bible app.
It’s so easy to do everything but pray and read my Bible.
I know I don’t have the level of commitment that the writer of Psalms 119 had.
So what does that say about me?
I know I need to do better.
I want to do better.
I believe the only way to love God more is to ask Him to help me love Him more. Ask Him to help me be committed to reading His Word; to be committed to praying; and memorizing scripture; to help me put away distractions and choose Him.
And He will. He will draw me near to Him.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
