Invest In People

Invest in people.

Invest in the lives of others.

With other investments, there’s always a chance of loss.

But investing in people will ALWAYS provide great returns.

And unlike other investments, you don’t need a lot of money to invest in people.

When my oldest daughter was probably 4 or 5, a sweet lady at my church began bringing her a book (sometimes more than 1) every Sunday.

She was always so happy to get these books, and I have no doubt that part of her love for books at a young age was due to these gifts.

We wrote her name in the back of all the books she gave her, and as my other three children got older they began to enjoy these books too.

It might have seemed like a small gesture to this sweet lady, but it has been a gift of love that has endured for the past 13+ years as each of my children have pulled these books out, read, and pointed out her name in the back.

Investing in people can look like a cup of coffee.

Investing in people can look like quietly listening when they need to vent about what’s going on in their lives.

Investing in people can look like committing to praying for them.

Investing in people can look like inviting them to your house for dinner.

For me, investing in people was giving my child a book every Sunday at church.

Investing in people is loving them.

Investing in people fulfills Jesus’ command to love your neighbor as yourself.

Seek out someone to invest in, and watch how God uses it to bless you both!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
