Joy At All Times

I listened to music on my phone as I got ready this morning.

I jumped in the car, singing along to a song, then realized I had forgot something inside.

I got out of my car, still singing, and slammed the door forgetting that the music was coming from inside the car.

I couldn’t hear the music, but kept singing until I got back to the car.

That made me think how that’s similar to the joy we have when we know Jesus.

Even though I couldn’t hear the music while I ran in the house, I knew it was still playing.

Sometimes, I may not be able to see or feel God. But I know He’s there. And I know He’ll never leave me.

But God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

I kept singing even when I couldn’t hear the music.

Despite our circumstances we can trust God to continue to be there for us.

And we can still have joy no matter what we’re facing if we keep our eyes on Christ.

“But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed at the revelation of His glory.” 1 Peter 4:13

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

We’re called to rejoice in the Lord always.(Philippians 4:4)

Not just when we feel like it,

not just when others are watching,

not just when good things happen,

but always.

The only way we can do that is through having a relationship with Christ.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”Nehemiah 8:10
