You will have the opportunity to be kind to someone today.
A lot of times we make excuses about not knowing God’s plan for us.
But he has plans for us throughout the Bible that He makes clear.
He plans for us to love Him and love others. Mark 12:30-31
He plans for us to show kindness and compassion. Colossians 3:12
He plans for us to love like He loves. Love is patient. Love is kind. 1 Corinthians 13:4
Kindness is His plan for you.
You may not know all the plans He has for you.
But you can be sure that He plans for you to be kind.
Maybe some people don’t deserve our kindness. But that really isn’t our decision.
Our kindness could be the one thing to shine just enough light for someone to find Jesus.
It won’t always be easy.
We lose our temper.
We lose our patience.
We are in a hurry.
Our feelings are hurt.
It’s not our fault.
But…
God’s will for us is to be kind.
I don’t think we realize the significance of being kind to others.
The Bible says that God will reward us for being kind to the poor. Proverbs 19:17
The Bible says our reward will be great when we are kind to the ungrateful. Luke 6:35
And most importantly, when we show kindness, God will make us effective and productive for His glory.
“Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:5-8
