We all know the saying, “Home is where the heart is.”
Already this year, in my community, we have been reminded of how short life is.
How we never know how much time on Earth we have left.
The song, “Love Will Be Our Home” has been on my mind the past few days. It’s a song that our choir sang many years ago. But for some reason, it has come to my mind.
I looked up the lyrics today and this part caught my attention:
“If home is really where the heart is
Then home must be a place that we all share
for even with our differences
our hearts are much the same
And where love is we come together there.”
It’s a reminder that no matter our different ideas and opinions, we are called to love.
If we put our faith and trust in Jesus, this world is not our home.
For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Hebrews 13:14
We don’t have to be afraid that tomorrow could be the last day we have on Earth, because we will have eternity in Heaven.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
We know that God IS love.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16
If God is love, and our trust is in Him, we can truly worship along with the song that “Love will be our home.”
