You can’t turn on the tv or get on social media without the mention of the Coronavirus.
Events are being cancelled, schools are closing, and toilet paper is a hot commodity.
But it is possible to recognize the potential impact of Coronavirus without being overcome by fear and anxiety.
We have an opportunity to show the world the peace found in Jesus amidst our circumstances.
When our hope is in the One who created the world; the very One who isn’t surprised by anything that is happening; we don’t have to be worried or afraid.
Absolutely wash your hands.
Be considerate of others if you are sick.
Take the advice of medical professionals.
Of course, take precautions.
But remember the One who holds you.
The One who knew you before you were born.
The One who wrote every page in your book before you were conceived.
The One and only One who knows how your story ends.
He has a plan for each of us. His purpose will be accomplished and nothing can stop it.
He tells us over and over again, “Do not be afraid.”
He tells us not to worry.
We demonstrate our love and trust in Him, when we listen to Him.
Philippians 4:6,7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything…”
ANYTHING
How can we do that?
The verse continues:
“But in EVERYTHING by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God…”
Why does He tells us to pray and give Him thanks instead of worrying about our problems?
Because He promises us peace when we listen and trust Him.
“And the PEACE OF GOD which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Following Jesus doesn’t mean we won’t problems, or that we won’t have moments of being afraid, but if we keep our eyes on Him, He will help us.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
