At choir practice the other night, we began by practicing a song I really like.
But as the song started to play, static started coming from the speaker. We continued on with the song, and even though I love the song, I wasn’t able to enjoy it because of the static. I couldn’t focus on the words or message because of the static.
It made me think about the static in our lives.
Static from having too many things going on throughout our day.
Our minds can’t focus.
There’s a reason God told us to be still and know that He is God.
When we’re busy rushing through our day, with the static of social media, work, school, bills to pay, events to attend, or a million other things we can’t enjoy God.
The static in our lives makes it hard to focus on God.
But when we set aside time to be still and know that He is God, the static disappears, and we can enjoy the fullness of His presence.
If the static in your life is keeping you from focusing on and enjoying your relationship with God, make time to be still and spend time with Him.
Get rid of the static keeping you from experiencing the wonder, the majesty, the holiness, the goodness, and the love of God.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
