The newness of you.
The baby smell.
Not wanting to put you down.
The feedings in the night, and afterwards, you falling fast asleep on my shoulder.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Trying new foods.
Hearing you say, “Mama.”
Watching you take your first steps.
Reading your favorite book as you sit on my lap.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Watching you dance around the room.
You, calling from the next room, “Mommy, come play with me.”
Watching your favorite cartoons while we snuggle on the couch.
Receiving sticky kisses and hugs, and hearing, “I love you.”
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Learning to write your name.
Making new friends.
Watching you play a sport for the first time.
Being so proud of you when YOU read a book to me.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Cheering as you pedal your bike with no training wheels.
Watching as you swim underwater.
Listening to your funny jokes and your very imaginative stories.
Going to the movies together, and afterwards, getting ice cream.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Having sleepovers with all of your friends.
Picking out basketball shoes before the start of the season.
Doing makeovers on each other.
Making up silly dances, and performing them for everyone.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Going shopping for the perfect outfit.
Trying to help you with your homework that I don’t understand.
Treating ourselves to iced coffee and doughnuts so very often.
Watching reality tv snuggled under blankets, and laughing.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Helping you learn to drive.
Helping you decide what college is right for you.
Watching you get ready for your first date.
All of us under the same roof.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Clapping along with the rest of your family as you receive your degree.
Taking you out for lunch on your lunch break.
Meeting and getting to know the one who stole your heart.
Helping you get things settled in your own house.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Loving on your beautiful children, and spoiling them rotten.
Enjoying family dinners and holiday get-togethers.
Looking through pictures.
Spending time with old friends.
Enjoying special time with my husband.
Thank you Lord for this season.
I don’t want it to end.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Absolutely love this. I have and will love every season of life, especially when it comes to raising my kids. But……I will also secretly cry because it is going way to fast! Beautiful words from your heart!!
I am with you! It hurts my heart how fast they grow! Thank you! ❤️
