The Gift Of Peace

How peaceful is your life right now?

What’s consuming your thoughts?

Is it presents and to-do lists?

Is it how badly someone treated you?

Is it social media or a tv show?

Or planning your next trip?

Seems like all these are normal things we tend to be focused on.

But how peaceful are all our lives in general?

Doesn’t the thought of a peaceful life sound wonderful?

Then why do we focus on all the stuff that doesn’t bring peace?

God gives us the key to a peaceful life:

“…letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” Romans 8:6

But what does that mean?

The verse before this one says, “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.” Romans 8:5

So it matters where our thoughts are.

Philippians 4:8 says, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

God tells us to think about these kind of things so we can have the gift of a peaceful life.

Think about God’s great love for us.

Think about the blessings he gives us.

Think about loving and helping each other.

Thinking about every good and perfect gift.

Think about Christ.

This is where you will find peace.
