This World Hurts

God knows this world hurts us. He knows we get worn down. He knows trials and heartache are around many corners.

That’s why He tells us to love each other.

God’s Word is good.

God’s Word is true.

God’s Word is the sword of the Spirit, protecting us from all kinds of things we face.

God’s Word says, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

God’s Word says, “whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25

When we’re focused inwardly on all the things we want or have to do we get bogged down. We won’t find satisfaction in our possessions or fancy vacations.

What gets us through this life- what helps us move forward is each other.

Finding ways to serve someone in love.

Being aware of those around us.

Asking ourselves (while asking the Holy Spirit) who can I help or encourage today?

This world hurts.

But God tells us to love Him and each other.

And when we do that, we can face the struggles of today with a joyous hope for our future.

“The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” Galatians 5:6
