How many times does God call us to do something, and instead of just doing it, we make a mental list of reasons why we don’t think we can do what He’s asking?
It will take up too much time.
I don’t have enough money.
It’s a big sacrifice.
What will my friends and family think?
It could be dangerous.
But you need to hear this:
If it’s from the Lord, you can be sure He’s planned it out. He’s working it for your good. He won’t leave you to do it by yourself. His power will be upon you. It WILL bless you and others.
If there’s something you know God’s wanting you to do, no obstacle you can think of is too hard for Him.
We miss out on the greatest blessings God wants for us, when we only follow Him when it’s easy, convenient, and lines up with the plans we’ve already made.
He knows we want to listen to our heads.
That’s why He tells us, “Don’t rely on your own understanding.”
That’s why He tells us, “Trust me. And I will direct your steps.”
If God’s asking you to do something, do it.
He’s already got the details worked out.
Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. Proverbs 16:20
