The temperature of water in a well doesn’t change. Despite whatever is going on outside, be it a blizzard with below zero temperatures or a blazing summer heat, the temperature in a well is largely unaffected by what’s going on around it.
A person whose eyes are fixed on Christ and Heaven can have joy despite what’s going on around them. No matter what is going on in this person’s life, their joy is consistent.
They are able to face sickness, loss, and even death without their joy being taken away.
Not because they don’t grieve or suffer, but because their joy is found in Christ.
They see beyond the pain of this life, looking forward to a future in Heaven.
Christ is their strength in hard times.
In the same way, when good things happen to them, they don’t rely on these good things for joy. Their joy remains in the Lord because he is the source of joy.
If joy is missing from your life, do you know Christ?
When you have a relationship with him, he will fill you with a joy only he can give.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
The joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
