Are you struggling with God’s direction for your life?
Sometimes God gives us a clear direction to go. For example, this blog. I knew God wanted me to share what He placed on my heart, even though I was nervous about putting it out there for everyone to see.
But His plan doesn’t always seem clear.
Maybe you’re in a place where you don’t know what to do next; maybe you’ve tried to go one direction but your plans didn’t work out; maybe you just can’t seem to hear what God’s wanting you to do.
Today, I realized, it’s in these moments, these seasons, that God is still giving us a clear direction.
He’s wanting us to go back to the basics. He simply wants us to do what we already know He’s asked us to do.
He wants us to always be joyful.
He wants us to pray without ceasing.
He wants us to give thanks in everything.
This is His will. Always.
So when we don’t hear Him saying to do something specific, we can follow what He’s already told us to do.
Maybe someone is particularly sad this Christmas season. Maybe, when they see you, and the joy within you, they will find Hope.
There are so many facing Christmas without a loved one this year. Many are facing sickness. Maybe God hasn’t called you to be “doing something” so that you can spend more time praying for all those who are hurting this season.
And finally, we can thank God for everything He has given us. Every good and perfect gift is from Him. He is worthy of our praise. When you don’t know what else to do, thank Him for all He’s done for you.
Maybe you’re the one hurting.
Maybe you don’t feel like you have anything to offer. Maybe it’s hard to find joy or give thanks. Even amidst hard times, you can pray. Pray for God to help you. Pray for God to give you peace. When you come near to God, He will always come near to you.
He has given you direction. Spend time today rejoicing in our Savior, praying for your needs and the needs of others, and giving thanks for all He’s done in your life.
His plans will never fail.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
